Best practices of the Lakhta Center for the Russian construction industry

The creators of the Lakhta Center will traditionally hold their own object session at the 100+ Forum Russia, timed to coincide with the completion of construction and commissioning of the complex. The specialists who built the tallest building in Europe will share their unique experience gained during the project implementation process.

Denis Konin, Head of the VSIS sector at the V.A. Kucherenko Central Research Institute (JSC SIC Stroitelstvo) and Vladimir Travush, Deputy General Director, Chief Designer (CJSC GORPROEKT), will talk about creating unique structures - half-timbered columns of the main entrance arch made of laminated glass up to 16.5 meters high. Thanks to the Lakhta Center, the basis for regulatory and technical documents for the calculation of load-bearing glass elements has been formed, which will make the use of such structures more accessible and predictable.

Oleg Shulyatyev, Deputy Director, N.M. Gersevanov National Research Research Institute (JSC SIC Construction), will present the first data of the Lakhta Center's structural monitoring system obtained after the completion of the superheavy building, and will also talk about what unique information was obtained during the monitoring of structures and foundations and how it can affect the development of science and practice. In continuation of this topic, Dmitry Babichev, head of the design department of the Automated Control System (TELROS CJSC), will talk about the automated system for monitoring the load-bearing structures of a high-rise building and the architecture of building an automated system for monitoring the deformation state of a building, the features of monitoring the load-bearing structures of a building and ensuring the safety of building operation.

Ivan Yelkin, a design engineer (Renaissance Construction JSC), will talk about the unique operation of installing a skyscraper spire in extreme weather conditions without using helicopter technology.

A unique facade maintenance system has become the final element of the complex, giving it a finished look and allowing the facades of the building to be kept clean and tidy. Sergey Nikiforov, Chief Engineer of the Lakhta Center, moderator of the project's object session, will talk about the specifics of its development.

This year, for everyone who cannot attend the forum in Yekaterinburg, a live broadcast will be organized on December 7 from 14.00 – 15.30 on the official website of 100+ Forum Russia.
