From Vladivostok to Rostov-on-Don: digital construction projects in 11 Russian cities will be discussed at the forum

Vladivostok

The project of the Far Eastern Federal University Technopark on Russian Island can be called one of the most complex architectural solutions. It is planned to present it at the forum in Yekaterinburg as one of the cases. The special feature of the project is its universal modular structure, which takes into account the possibilities of architectural development, taking into account the terrain, territory, and versatility. Despite the fact that the project remains unrealized, its future prospects will be discussed at the forum.

Fearsome

Specialists of the State Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning of the Chechen Republic and the Grozny State Petroleum Technical University named after Academician M.D. Millionshchikov" will attend the forum as part of an official delegation. As an example implemented using digital modeling technologies, the project of the Multifunctional high-rise complex Akhmat Tower will be presented at the forum.

Chelyabinsk

The project of a Congress Hall on the embankment of the Miass River, which was planned to be built for the SCO and BRICS 2020 summits, will be considered as one of the cases. It is based on the architectural solution of the winner of the ARCHCHEL 2020 competition Yerlan Bekmukhamedov, architect of PI Arena company. The modern building is designed using digital modeling technologies and should become the architectural dominant of the city.

Samara

The Samara Arena stadium, which hosted six matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, became the first among the facilities built for the Championship, in the design of which digital modeling technologies were used. The second landmark project created using BIM technologies, the Kurumoch Airport, the largest in the Volga region, is scheduled to be presented at the forum.

Krasnoyarsk

It is planned to present a project for the reconstruction of a recreation area on the shore of Tatyshev Island at the 100+ Forum Russia. Significant facilities are being actively improved in the city, including the landscape nursery of the Krasnoyarsk Embankment and the restoration of the historic building of the river station.

Nizhniy Novgorod

Digital modeling technologies were used in the design of the Nizhny Novgorod Sports Arena. The forum participants will discuss the project of construction and development of the territory near the stadium. The architectural features are based on the interpretation of classical facades, playing on the theme of the wave as a symbol of the stadium. The wave-like construction of the facade is combined with the internal structure of the stairs connecting the various levels of the stadium's spectator lobbies.

Novosibirsk

The city of one million people plans to show the forum participants the projects of a new ice arena for the 2023 IIHF World Youth Championship and the city's first 150-meter-high skyscraper with a concept of landscaping around it.

Rostov-on-Don

It is planned to present one of the regional projects at the forum – Platov Airport, created using digital modeling technology: "The project is based on the idea that the airport is a "bridge to the sky" connecting a variety of cities and countries. Architecturally, this metaphor is embodied with the help of numerous parabolic arches of different heights, thrown from the square in front of the airport onto the airfield. Some of these structures touch the ground, smoothly flowing into real bridges leading through decorative ponds," the authors of the project note.

Voronezh

The authors of one of the regional projects for the improvement of the Voronezh embankment and the reconstruction of Sovetskaya Square are invited to participate in the forum. Voronezh is one of the 40 cities for which Strelka Design Bureau has developed a concept for the improvement of iconic places: "The project provides for the creation of a pedestrian route in the historical part of the city. The main task is to create a new quality public space worthy of one of Voronezh's main squares," the authors note.

Kazan

The forum will present the projects of the finalists of the competition for the development of the concept and master plan of the eco-region in Kazan, which is being held under the chairmanship of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. The jury considered 47 applications from 19 countries (27 international and Russian consortia and 22 individual participants) and selected the finalists, including alliances of architectural firms from France, Great Britain, Holland and Russia. Kazan is also developing several regional improvement projects, including a new general urban development plan, which envisages the creation of new public spaces by 2035 - a park, library and landscaped embankment, as well as the construction of two new bridges across the Volga River by 2050.

Ufa

The winners of the competition of the Union of Architects of Russia for the best creative proposal on the architectural and urban planning concept for the development of the southern slope and the embankment of the Belaya River in the Ufa city district of the Republic of Bashkortostan have been invited to participate in the business program of the forum. According to the results of the competition, the best concepts for the creation of a recreational center with a developed infrastructure on the embankment of the Belaya River with public, tourist, cultural and sports spaces will be selected.
