The Organizing Committee invited British builders to the forum

Representatives of the organizing committee of the 100+ Forum Russia met with the British Consul General in Yekaterinburg, Martin Fenner. During the conversation, the parties discussed the format of participation of representatives of the construction community of the United Kingdom in the international forum of high-rise and unique construction.

The head of the British diplomatic mission in Yekaterinburg expressed great interest in sharing the experience of Russian and British specialists in the field of high-rise and unique construction. He noted the importance and significance of the event held annually in Yekaterinburg. Martin Fenner confirmed that he will personally participate in the 100+ Forum Russia in October, and a delegation of representatives from leading UK design and construction companies will be formed in the near future and the topics of the experts' reports will be determined.

According to The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), there are currently 23 buildings in the UK with a height of more than 150 meters. The tallest is The Shard (306 m) in London (architect Renzo Piano). The most iconic high-rise building is The Gherkin ("Gherkin"), designed by Norman Foster. Seven more high-rise buildings are currently under construction in London, and the 52-54 Lime Street office complex (192.1 m) and the Principal Place Building 2 (161.3 m) residential complex will be commissioned this year. Despite the fact that the architects proposed building skyscrapers in London with a height of more than 500 m, the city authorities believe that it is necessary to maintain moderation so as not to disrupt harmony with the historical appearance. Even in the high-rise area of the city (Canary Wharf), the average height of skyscrapers is 220 m.
