Lakhta Center will be discussed at 100+ Forum Russia

Active work continues on the formation of the program for the 100+ Forum Russia. The event will take place in Yekaterinburg on September 24-26.

Alexey Shakhvorostov, General Director of the Inforsproekt Engineering Bureau, is among the Russian experts invited to the forum. Inforsproekt's main specialization is the design of unique buildings and structures. For example, the bureau is currently working on the design of building structures for two stadiums of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Samara and Kaliningrad. The Lakhta Center tower, the headquarters of Gazprom-Neft in St. Petersburg, is also in operation.

The Lakhta Center tower claims to be one of the tallest buildings in Russia, with a height of 462 meters. The building is based on a rigid reinforced concrete core, inside which all vertical communications are laid — pipes and cables. In addition, the strength of the skyscraper is provided by outrigger columns, thanks to which the stability of the structure will remain even with the removal of 30% of the supporting structures.

The technical characteristics of the tower can be safely called unique. So, at the design stage, a special system for monitoring and combating ice formation was developed. The construction of a high-rise building using a similar system in the North-Western region is being carried out for the first time. The project provides for 34 elevators in the tower. The skyscraper will also have fire elevators, which will be used in case of a threat of an emergency. In addition, the entire Lakhta Center project is based on the principles of "green building", where great attention is paid to advanced energy-saving technologies.

It is worth noting that the German consulting company Emporis, which collects information in the field of architectural design, construction and real estate, in early May this year compiled a rating of the tallest built and under construction skyscrapers in Europe. Russia has taken a leading position in it – out of 10 high-rise buildings on the list, 7 are being built in our country. And the tallest skyscraper under construction in Europe is the St. Petersburg Lakhta Center.

Let us remind you that 100+ Forum Russia is a professional international forum and exhibition dedicated to the design, construction, financing and operation of high–rise buildings. The forum is planned to be held in Yekaterinburg once a year or every two years. This year's event will take place on September 24-26, at the Hyatt Regency Yekaterinburg.

Organizers and strategic partners: the World Council for High-Rise Buildings and the Urban Environment (CTBUH), the exhibition operator Deutsche Messe RUS, the Union of Architects of Russia, the National Association of Developers (NOZA). The program includes a conference and thematic round tables, presentations of domestic and foreign high-rise projects and a cultural and entertainment part. Among the speakers and guests, leaders of the global construction and architecture business, government officials and a wide range of professionals are expected.
