Some things can only be seen from a bird's eye view.

Exactly one month before the start of the 100+ Forum Russia, a flying bird symbol appeared on the roof of the Architect shopping center in Yekaterinburg. This action is a continuation of last year's one, when a two-hundred-meter drawing with cranes was made on the embankment of the Iset River at the initiative of the forum organizers.

"The idea of creating graffiti to draw attention to the forum did not appear by chance — Yekaterinburg is a recognized leader in this area of street art in Russia. Of Russia. Birds are chosen as the 100+ symbol: there are no boundaries for them, and a height of more than 100 meters is not the limit, they always return to their home. The figure of the flying crane, in our opinion, reflects both the limitlessness of possibilities, and the desire for an upward movement and a home at the same time. This year we chose the same theme, and we hope that creating art objects in the form of birds by the 100+ ForumRussia will become a good tradition for many years to come. A video about the creation of the project will show the residents and guests of Yekaterinburg how beautiful our city is," said Vera Belous, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of the 100+ Forum Russia.

The sketch of the drawing was developed by Dmitry Chursin, a lecturer at the Ural Architectural and Art University, Candidate of Architecture, member of the Union of Artists of Russia, member of the Union of Designers of Russia. The image covers an area of 400 square meters.

The project, like last year, was implemented by the Rayons artists' association. The team has experience in improving the urban environment of Russian cities: it has repeatedly participated in Shorthand, and in 2015, Rayons implemented the Graffiti Collection project near the 1905 Ploshchad metro station.

Anton Rayons, leader of the Rayons association: "The roof of the city is an ideal place to implement such a project. The weather did not disappoint this time, it was sunny and warm for two days of work. The result is an object that we hope will become part of our city's graffiti code." It is worth noting that this is the first significant graffiti—style roof painting. Prior to this, iconic rooftop objects had repeatedly been the work of street artist Tima Radi in the form of text messages.

Derufa has become a permanent partner of the project. For the second year, the manufacturer has been supplying paint to create art objects for 100+ Forum Russia.
