A school of young scientists will open at the Yekaterinburg Forum

The program of the educational cluster at the 100+ Forum Russia will include a meeting of the School of Young Scientists on the topic "Sustainable development of territories – the responsibility of youth."

The moderator of the section, Vladimir Alyokhin, First Deputy Director of the UrFU Construction Institute, believes that the problem of saving the planet's resources and the safety of future generations requires careful and extremely sensitive attitude. "This applies primarily to young scientists and all motivated young people. The need for sustainable development, as the needs of today, is constantly emphasized at various levels – from public organizations to governments in almost all countries of the world," the expert adds.

The concept of "sustainable development" is multifaceted, it combines the concepts of resource conservation, including energy conservation, environmental safety, the organization of a comfortable and accessible living environment, and the security of strategic infrastructures.

Questions for discussion at the sections of the School of the Young Scientist:

  1. Economic and technical aspects of the design, construction and monitoring of unique buildings and structures.
  2. Resource-saving, including energy-efficient technologies.
  3. Innovative materials.
  4. "Green" construction.
  5. Information modeling technologies.
  6. Safety of construction critical infrastructures and territories.
  7. Concepts and strategies for the development of territories.

The program also includes issues of international cooperation and the quality of education.

The meeting of the School of Young Scientists will be attended by graduate students, undergraduates, scientists, leading experts in the field of urban planning, architecture, and construction technologies from Russia, Great Britain, Italy, Romania, and other countries.

The European Association for Construction Education and Staff Retraining (EUCEET) confirmed the participation. Lawrence Frederick Boswell, President of the Association, City of London University Professor, and other representatives of the Association's administrative council are planning a visit to the 100+ Forum Russia. Participants of the International Educational and Experimental Project of the NEPTUN Environmental Protection Foundation, which is held under the auspices of the NHL High School University of Leeuwarden (the Netherlands) in cooperation with RosNIIVH, are also expected.

The co-organizer of the school of young Scientists is the International Scientific and Educational Center of Excellence, the Laboratory for Security Technologies of Strategic Infrastructures and Territories, a joint project of the Ural Federal University and the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
