The forum will tell about the development of steel construction in Russia
Today in Russia there is a "concrete stereotype", the essence of which boils down to the fact that it is easier, faster, more efficient and cheaper to build residential and office buildings from concrete, and steel structures are used only in industrial construction. However, not only international, but also Russian experience shows that this is not entirely true: such famous buildings in the capital as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Comecon, the European Shopping Center, the Ukraine Hotel (built in 1957) and others were built using metal structures. World practice also shows that high–rise buildings using metal structures are durable - the Empire State Building, one of the symbols of New York, was built in just over a year and opened in 1931. One of the domestic examples of high–rise construction on a metal frame is the Eurasia tower of the Moscow City business center.
In recent years, the use of metal structures has also entered civil engineering. For example, the Association for the Development of Steel Construction (ARCC), which unites leading manufacturers and suppliers of rolled metal products, metal construction plants, research and design institutes, architectural bureaus and educational institutions, offers developers ready-made standard structural structures for the construction of entire residential blocks on metal frames. Denis Konin, head of the high-rise buildings and structures sector, an employee of the V.A. Kucherenko Central Research Institute, a leading scientific consultant to the ARSS, cites Novosibirsk (Novomarusino residential complex), Novokuznetsk (Scarlet Sail residential complex), Nizhny Novgorod (Seasons Residential Complex) and others as examples.
The country's specialized research and design institutes are working on the creation of a regulatory framework in the field of steel-reinforced concrete construction. The joint venture project "Steel-reinforced concrete structures. Design Rules" has already passed the procedure of public discussion. Experts will consider the results of the public discussion of the new joint venture in detail at the 100+ Forum Russia in 2016.
The business program of the forum also includes topics on the use of steel structures in the construction of unique facilities such as bridges and large–span structures, reports on the best technical solutions in this area and the conditions in which the industry operates. For more information, see the 100+ Forum Russia 2016 program.
