The Lakhta Center tower claims to be one of the tallest buildings in Russia. The deadline for commissioning is 2018. Many innovative technologies were used in the construction of the building.
So, at the design stage, a special system for monitoring and combating ice formation was developed. The construction of a high-rise building using a similar system in the North-Western region is being carried out for the first time. The project provides for 34 elevators in the tower. The skyscraper will also have fire elevators, which will be used in case of a threat of an emergency.
The entire Lakhta Center project is based on the principles of "green building", where great attention is paid to advanced energy saving technologies. For example, the consumption of energy and material resources will be reduced by converting the kinetic energy of the steps of employees and visitors of the Lakhta Center into electrical energy. It is planned to use this energy to illuminate the courtyard of the future public and business complex.
