100+ Forum Russia will develop the transport system of the future

Speakers of the VI International Forum and Exhibition of high-rise and unique construction 100+ Forum Russia will tell when citizens will be able to abandon private cars in favor of public transport and bicycles, discuss the model of the transport infrastructure of the "ideal city" without traffic jams, suspension bridges between skyscrapers and silent roads.

The forum will present effective solutions for transport systems in megacities and the latest technologies for optimizing the infrastructure of the cities of the future. The case studies include projects in Moscow, New York, San Francisco, Milan, London, Cairo and Istanbul. The discussion will be attended by Federico Parolotto (Head of Mobility in Chain), Joao Silva (architectural bureau Lissoni Architettura), Stefan Jentsch (Director for the Asia-Pacific region at Obermeyer), Nikolai Kanev (Candidate of Physico-mathematical Sciences, Acoustic Group) and others.

"According to a VTsIOM survey, 25% of Russian drivers are ready to completely or partially abandon cars. This indicates that the transport infrastructure is changing. A comfortable city of the future is a city that completely covers the needs for movement without a personal car. In addition, such a city reduces not only carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere, but also vibroacoustic pollution. Our experts are already ready to present such master plans for modern megacities," said Vera Belous, head of the working group of the Organizing Committee of the 100+ Forum Russia.

The forum's agenda includes issues related to the development of comfortable cities, convenient transport hubs and stations with large intercept parking lots, separation of pedestrian and traffic flows, bike path systems, underground and even "aerial" vertical high–speed passenger roads with elevators, as well as acoustic comfort of the urban environment in conditions of intensive development of the transport network.

"It is important to create and design a high-quality urban environment for the movement of people: pedestrians, cyclists, and to make sure that they do not have to spend a lot of time getting from point A to point B. And it doesn't matter what kind of transport they will use. It doesn't matter what kind of public transport will be: whether it will be electric, whether the buses will be hybrid, or whether they will be powered by some kind of atomic energy. One of the main criteria for a convenient city is the proximity of different spaces, when you don't have to spend a lot of time and money to get from home to work or to any other location. This factor will become a competitive advantage of the city in the future. I have long wanted to share my vision of what needs to be done to create a durable and comfortable structure and propose a new model of the "ideal city," said Federico Paralotto about his speech at the 100+ Forum Russia.

The forum will also present a project for a unique pedestrian bridge between Manhattan skyscrapers with a length of more than 600 meters, which will become an "airway" from the new station to the offices and will be suspended between buildings at a height of 6 meters. Vertical paths with elevators and stairs are planned to be laid from the ground to the bridge.  The project of the architectural bureau "Lissoni Architettura" became a finalist in the competition "Metals in Construction magazine 2019". The developers paid special attention to environmental friendliness – the bridge structures will consist of recycled materials, and technologies for converting kinetic energy from steps into electricity will provide power for the bridge and the light installation from organic light-emitting diodes. The participants of the section will discuss the possibility of reproducing the project in megacities of different climatic zones.
