"Soft Landing": BIM as a developer's savings tool
This is what is called in Europe the stage of efficient and economical transfer of an object from builders to operators. The use of BIM at all stages of the facility's life cycle allows you to put the facility into operation at no extra cost and save on maintenance and repairs in the future.
The speakers of the webinar "BIM from design to operation" discussed modern types of information models, ways to use them profitably, as well as the prospects for savings through "Building Information Management".
Automation of design in general is the task of all market participants: from designers and programmers, to developers and operating organizations. All developed countries of the world are interested in robotic design today: it reduces work time, manual labor of specialized specialists and the number of errors. It also allows you to accurately calculate estimates for construction, maintenance, and calculate the cost of ownership and save customers money. Operation management using BIM is a flexible and operational decision—making mechanism.
⠀
As a result, the costs of creating an information model are fully recouped at the operational stage. BIM was primarily created to help those who then operate the building.
⠀
The speakers also presented their own developments in the field of process automation. Representatives of the Department of Information Modeling in Construction, UrFU Institute of Construction and Architecture, spoke about the possibilities of learning BIM from scratch.

The conference was held in preparation for the 100+ TechnoBuild in 2020.
The conference is organized by the Ural Builders Association, with the support of the Ural Federal University and The Ural TEAM cluster.
