Lakhta Center at the High-rise Construction Forum

Sergey Nikiforov, Chief Engineer of IFC Lakhta Center JSC, will hold a thematic session on Unique technologies of a super-high-altitude facility at the 100+ Forum Russia. Continued."

The project was first presented at the forum in 2014. In 2015, experts talked about the successful completion of work on the zero cycle and the installation of the box foundation of the skyscraper. Then, during the concreting of the base of the Lakhta Center, a new world record was set – the world's most powerful monolithic reinforced concrete slab with a volume of almost 20,000 cubic meters was created. In 2016, at the forum, experts continued to talk about unique technologies for the construction of high-rise buildings and discussed the specifics of installing steel and reinforced concrete structures of the Lakhta Center high-rise tower and unique cold-rolled glass enclosing structures. The glazing area of the complex will be 130,000 square meters. meters. This is the first time that such a volume of facade glass has been used in a high-rise building.

This year, experts from Samsung C&T, Renaissance Construction and Gorproekt CJSC will talk in their reports about the engineering strategy of the complex, the construction of the skyscraper core and innovative construction technologies.

The Lakhta Center is a multifunctional social and business complex, the core of which will be the headquarters of Gazprom Neft and the offices of Gazprom Group structures. The design height of the Lakhta Center tower is 462 meters. The total area of buildings and structures will be 400,000 m2.

In August 2012, permission was received for the construction of the first stage of the Lakhta Center public and business complex, which includes a high-rise building and an adjacent stylobate part. In September 2013, permission was granted for the construction of the entire complex, including a multifunctional building. In 2015, the "zero cycle" works were completed, and work is currently underway on the construction of aboveground parts of high-rise and multi-functional buildings. In May 2017, the construction of the core is underway at the level of 76-80 floors, the installation of metal structures on 73-76 floors, at the same time the installation of the facades of the tower and work on the metal structures of the MFZ. The construction of the complex is scheduled to be completed in 2018.

The Lakhta Center project is unique in terms of engineering and technical solutions. Highly qualified Russian and foreign specialists are working on constructive solutions. In total, the Lakhta Center will feature more than a hundred technological innovations, thanks to which the complex can claim leadership in the field of energy conservation, environmental friendliness, safety and adaptability.

On the top floor of the Lakhta Center, at 357 meters, there will be a public observation deck – closed with panoramic windows. It is the highest observation deck in Russia and Europe. This is higher than the Petronas Towers observation deck in Kuala Lumpur.
