How to implement a unique building project in Russia?
Using the example of the ZIL Gateway Tower project, Dmitry Gureev, chief architect of SPEECH projects, will talk about the mechanisms for adapting innovative architectural solutions.
The 150-meter tower designed by American architect Honey Rashid (Asymptote Architecture) will become the high-rise dominant of the new district of the capital, which is being built in Moscow as part of a comprehensive reconstruction program for the former ZiL plant. The 35-storey building is planned to house offices, shops and apartments with a total area of 32,000 m2.
Dmitry Gureev, as the chief architect, accompanies the project of the ZIL Gateway Tower. In order to make the spectacular idea of American architects a reality, the SPEECH bureau has come up with and developed (together with Thornton Tomasetti) a number of non-standard and innovative design and engineering solutions. These include the creation of a transfer floor (for the first time in residential construction) with a 15-meter transfer beam console, as well as minimizing the dimensions of shafts through the use of heat-insulating non-combustible materials, designing evacuation ladders in pairs based on the principle of Chambord stairs, using a dry pipe as a fire extinguishing system in non-residential buildings and many other solutions, which the chief architect He will tell you more about the project in his speech.
SPEECH is one of the largest and most successful architectural bureaus in Russia. It was founded in 2006 by architects Sergey Choban and Sergey Kuznetsov.
