How to use steel-reinforced concrete structures in construction according to the rules

On February 25, 2016, a public discussion of the Code of Rules "Steel-reinforced concrete structures" started. The notification is posted on the Rosstandart portal of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology.

The draft set of rules was developed under the scientific supervision of V.I. Travush, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, by specialists from leading research organizations: V.A.Kucherenko Central Research Institute, Melnikov Central Research Institute, A.A. Gvozdev Research Institute, Techsoft and Ercon. This set of rules will allow the design of steel-reinforced concrete columns, floors, and pipe-concrete structures without the development of STU. Download the Draft Set of Rules and an Explanatory Note

The public discussion of the document will last 2 months (until April 25). During this period, the ARCC and JSC SIC Stroitelstvo accept comments and suggestions, which can be sent to e-mail addresses. a.soskov@steel-development.ru and sp-stgb@mail.ru .

The document was based on the standard "Steel-reinforced concrete structures. Design Rules", developed and approved by the Association for the Development of Steel Construction and its members in 2015. Steel-reinforced concrete structures are often used in the construction of high-rise buildings and usually special technical specifications were drawn up for their use. "The need to develop standards for the design of steel-reinforced concrete structures is long overdue. Such constructive systems have been used all over the world and in Russia for more than two decades. However, the lack of a regulatory framework greatly limits the use of these structures," notes Ivan Ivanovich Vedyakov, Director of the V.A. Kucherenko Central Research Institute.

In 2015, at the 100+ Forum Russia, the development of steel construction in Russia was widely discussed at the ARCC conference. Leading experts shared their experience in designing and effectively using metal structures in civil engineering using examples of completed projects. Special attention was paid to the problem of improving the regulatory and technical base in steel construction.

At the upcoming forum in October, experts will continue to talk about the development of the regulatory framework, as well as the use of metal structures in the construction of unique and large-span structures.
