How do new public spaces appear in Yekaterinburg?
On October 5, at 16:00, the 100+ forum will host a round table on the topic "How Russian cities are being improved." Daria Paramonova, CEO of Strelka SA, director of projects for the improvement of key public spaces in 40 cities of Russia, Strelka Design Bureau, will participate in the round table.
Strelka Design Bureau, a pioneer in the field of urban consulting, has significant expertise in the field of public space improvement. Daria will talk about the Strelka Design Bureau's project support methodology and the stages leading up to the "laying of the foundation stone."
The round table will discuss the work that serves as a "frame" for the construction process. Today, competent project work on the improvement of individual territories consists of at least five stages.
The start of work on the improvement of public spaces is preceded by a pre-project analysis, on the basis of which the terms of reference are formed. At this stage, Strelka Design Bureau specialists use methods of anthropological and field research, digital analytics. The information obtained helps to identify the key problems and functions of the studied area. The results of the pre-project analysis form the basis of the terms of reference.
Next, the architects create a concept and define the functional content of the territory.
Daria will share her experience of co-designing Strelka Design Bureau. Using the example of involving hundreds of active citizens in the process of creating new public spaces in Yekaterinburg, the participants of the round table will learn how to get constructive feedback from non-professionals.
In her speech, Daria will pay special attention to the processes accompanying the development of design estimates, for example, author supervision. She will tell you what risks omitting this stage will entail and why it is important that the architect-developer of the concept accompany the development process of the POI.
At the time of delivery of the PSA, it may seem that the consultants' work on the project has been completed, but the subsequent implementation of the author's supervision is critically important for the successful completion of the construction. The final stage is the commissioning of the facility.
Strelka Design Bureau's expertise is not limited to the above-mentioned stages of project work. The company's portfolio includes hundreds of cases of successful solutions to various urban challenges.
