Stadium Manager

Dmitry Bush, Honored Architect of the Russian Federation, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Building Sciences, Professor at the Moscow Architectural Institute, confirmed his participation in the forum. As part of the business program, the renowned architect will speak at the thematic section "Arenas and Stadiums. Design and construction experience."

Dmitry Bush is known in the architectural community of the world as a leading specialist in sports arenas in Russia. The list of his projects includes the most famous and largest sports facilities. Among them are the Lokomotiv Stadium in Moscow, the Megasport Sports Palace on Khodynskoye Field, the ice sports palace for figure skating and short track competitions in Sochi, the indoor skating center in Krylatskoye, the stadium in Berlin and many others.

The chief architect of PI Arena is actively involved in the preparation of sports grounds in Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. More than a third of the stadium projects that will host the championship matches belong to him. Moreover, the appearance of each sports arena, designed with Bush's participation, is unique and unrepeatable. They reflect the peculiarities and recognizability of the regions. The Volgograd Stadium with its delicate facade and unique roof made of cable–stayed structures (high-strength steel ropes with anchors) is the first project of its kind in Russia. The stadium in Samara reflects the image of the city of advanced aviation and space technologies: the stadium with a dome almost 60 m high with a cutout in the center resembles a space object. The unique image of the stadium in Nizhny Novgorod is based on associations with the themes of the Volga nature – water and wind: a light frame of triangular thin supports forms an undulating translucent facade, behind which the stadium bowl is located. When designing the reconstruction of the Stadium in Yekaterinburg, the most difficult task of preserving the historical walls and embedding a new arena within them that meets the requirements of FIFA was solved.

The Design Institute of unique Structures "Arena" specializes in the design of sports, culture, healthcare, commercial and residential complexes. Today, the Arena Institute acts as the general designer of large public complexes in various regions of the country. PI Arena has completed preliminary designs and developed architectural and planning solutions for a number of stadiums for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
