Fisht is competing for the Architectural Oscar

Currently, the stadium is closed for reconstruction in preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup matches: builders are dismantling the roof, which was originally planned as a temporary structure, and preparing the football field. The capacity of the stadium will not increase and will amount to 45 thousand seats. The conversion of the stadium into a football stadium was originally included in the project and is being carried out in accordance with the plans.

It should be recalled that sports arenas are currently being prepared for the 2018 FIFA World Cup matches in 11 Russian cities. The issue of working out options for the subsequent operation of arenas is quite acute. In terms of the perception of sports stadiums as business projects, Russian experience is small and lags behind foreign experience.
