Experts discussed the agenda of the VI International Forum 100+ Forum Russia and World Cities Day
On Friday, July 19, the Russian Ministry of Construction hosted a meeting of the Organizing Committee of the VI International Forum and Exhibition of High-rise and Unique Construction 100+ Forum Russia and World Cities Day. The forum will be held from October 29 to November 1 in Yekaterinburg.
The concept and business program of the event were discussed at the meeting, and the participants and organizers of the forum were approved. The Organizing Committee, headed by Deputy Minister Dmitry Volkov, discussed existing proposals to expand the forum's program.
"During its holding, the forum has established itself as the country's main venue dedicated to the problems and prospects of innovative, unique, including high–rise construction," emphasized the Deputy head of the Ministry of Construction.
The business program of the World Cities Day will consist of six thematic sections and a plenary session dedicated to the topics of ecology, sustainable development, prosperity and opportunities for all residents of the cities of the future.
"The forum participants have an excellent opportunity to analyze the current situation in the field of high–rise construction, formulate clear tasks, the solution of which will lead to an improvement in the quality, safety and efficiency of the design and construction of high-rise buildings and skyscrapers in Russian cities," said Dmitry Volkov.
According to the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, Evgeny Kuyvashev, the main theme of this year's forum is "The City of the Future." It also echoes the theme of World Cities Day under the auspices of the United Nations – "The better the city, the better life."
"The city of the future is a new architecture, a radical renovation of public spaces using green technologies, free movement, a high level of safety, environmentally friendly transport, and the introduction of digital technologies. A serious task, the solution of which will bring us closer to creating cities of the future, is the use of BIM technologies, deep digital modernization of the construction industry, automation of processes at all stages of the life cycle of a construction facility," said the head of the region.
During the meeting, the idea of combining the World Cities Day and the exhibition of high-rise and unique construction 100+ Forum Russia on an ongoing basis was formed.
The "one-day forums" format, which was first tested in 2018, will continue this year. Forums dedicated to architecture, design, BIM technologies, engineering systems of unique buildings, and wooden construction will be held on October 29. The main business program will be held on October 30 and 31. The last day of the event will be devoted to visiting the already built facilities in the city. The third annual 100+ Technologies exhibition will be held simultaneously with the forum. The latest achievements of the construction industry will be presented to the attention of the congress participants.
This year, the World Cities Day and the 100+ Forum Russia will be held at the convention center of the IEC Yekaterinburg EXPO.
