What are "twister towers"?

Increasingly, modern skyscrapers are striking in their distinctive shapes - spiral, spherical, and conical skyscrapers have replaced strict classical parallelepipeds.

This uniqueness of forms requires non-standard and innovative technical solutions. The complex geometry of facades poses difficult challenges for architects and engineers. How to create a curved shell from conveyor production materials? How to typify construction processes and not reduce the speed of installation?

The forum participants will hear the answers to these and other questions at the meeting of the thematic section "Complex geometry of high-rise buildings". Philip Nikandrov, chief architect of Gorproekt, will also talk about twister towers, and Johan Zischka, representative of the Austrian company Waagner–BIRO, will talk about the steel and glass structures of the Reichstag dome in Berlin and the Yas Marina Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
