Improvement of Yekaterinburg and creation of a comfortable environment in the cities of the region will be discussed at 100+ Forum Russia

One of the important topics at this year's forum will be the priority project of the Russian Ministry of Construction to create a comfortable urban environment.

As part of the project, the federal budget allocated 20 billion rubles to finance regional landscaping projects. One third of this amount will be spent on urban facilities and public spaces, and two thirds on the reconstruction of courtyards. All municipalities where the population exceeds one thousand inhabitants participate in the project.

In the Urals, the program will include such settlements as Asbestos, Verkhnyaya Tura, Verkhny Ufaley, Kamensk-Uralsky, Karpinsk, Krasnoturinsk, Pervouralsk, Revda, Serov and many others. Yekaterinburg was also included in the part of the state program related to preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. It is being implemented in only 40 cities of Russia.

In each city, iconic public spaces will be chosen for landscaping, which will become the starting point for transformations throughout the city. The boundaries of landscaping will include at least three types of public spaces. Among them are streets, squares, embankments and parks. At the same time, several objects of each type can be landscaped in the city, for example, several streets, a park and a square.

As Russian President Vladimir Putin noted in a 2016 address to the Federal Assembly, "it is a matter of principle that residents themselves participate in making decisions on the use of these resources and determine which landscaping projects to implement first." In Yekaterinburg, which has relied on the renovation of the central part of the city and the embankment, the first public discussions have already taken place, and, as the participants note, the discussion was heated and constructive.

The developers, Strelka Design Bureau, a partner of 100+ Forum Russia2017, will offer solutions for the phased implementation of the landscaping project in the cities of the Sverdlovsk region and in the Ural capital.

You can find information about landscaping in 360 Russian cities in the monthly Bulletin of Russian Cities. The publication tells about projects in faces, quotes and figures and will be of interest to anyone who cares about the topic of beautification of our cities.
