"Unmanned" systems in construction to be discussed at 100+ TechnoBuild

Digitalization of construction is one of the regular topics of the 100+ TechnoBuild business program. In 2026, two sessions will be devoted to it, where 12 experts will speak.

One of the directions of digitalization is the development of unmanned systems. Today, this topic has gone beyond individual "scenarios": the use of UAS for construction control, checking labor discipline or shooting realistic reviews — the speakers have already presented such cases in the business program of the forum.

A new interpretation of drones is the development of low—altitude airspace and the simplest possible data integration, that is, the formalization and streamlining of the physical and digital environment in construction, taking into account the capabilities and limitations of unmanned systems.

"The topics of autonomous operating time, payload capacity, and the quality of data received from drones have been discussed at 100+ TechnoBuild since 2024," said Dmitry Skutin, Program Director of the forum. — Russian companies have now established the production of drones suitable for the construction industry, as well as ways to verify and verify the data received. The task of the forum, as a key platform where the future of the industry is discussed, is not only to present a wide range of solutions from domestic manufacturers, but also to bring the topic to a new level of development. Legislative and technological streamlining of the use of drones and digital data in construction will expand their application possibilities and reduce the cost of UAS implementation."

Standardization will help to transfer digital data from the exotic category to a number of working tools, the experts of the forum confirm:

"Today, the drone has already become another participant in the construction, which regularly brings objective data," comments Alexander Grisenko, an independent consultant in the field of UAS and an expert at 100+ TechnoBuild. — The real value appears at the moment when this data begins to live on. When they automatically get into the digital model of an object, they help to see deviations and become the basis for decision-making. In the coming years, the most important task will be the development of the environment: the creation of common rules for data exchange, unified digital descriptions and integration with existing information systems. When any drone can "talk" to any digital construction system in a language that both can understand, drones will become as familiar a part of the construction process as geodetic equipment or construction machinery. And, probably, it is this transition that looks the most important today."

Recall that unmanned systems are currently used in construction to create digital twins, BIM models, verify the implementation of design data, and high-precision measurements of existing facilities for modeling, including for the purpose of restoring facilities or "fitting" design volumes into the real landscape.

Over the years, both new digital data integration software and hardware have been presented for the first time at 100+ TechnoBuild. For example, in 2025, a Russian measuring drone capable of climbing ladders and an unmanned hydrographic complex that makes up a model of the bottom of a reservoir for designing hydrological structures (for example, dams and bridge supports) were presented at the exhibition. In 2024, a Russian drone with AI video preprocessing and a Chinese drone for geodetic surveying were presented for the first time at 100+ TechnoBuild.
