Arkady Chernetsky for skyscrapers!

Arkady Chernetsky, the former mayor of Yekaterinburg, and now a member of the Federation Council from the Sverdlovsk region, does not forget about his hometown. In addition to his active participation in the work of the Organizing Committee of the 100+ Forum Russia, Arkady Mikhailovich began overseeing the sphere of urban planning and architecture development in Russian cities in the Federation Council. Now he will be able to promote amendments and initiatives to the current legislation, which will bring Russian high-rise construction to a new level.

As for Yekaterinburg, the city has every chance to remain among the leaders in the number of high-rise buildings. The capital of the Urals is the second of the megacities (after Moscow) where high–rise construction is actively underway. This situation is caused not only by economic factors (the rising cost of land in the city, difficulties with utilities, landscaping), but also by the general urban planning policy of the authorities.

However, it's not that simple! It will take up to three years to coordinate the construction of a building with a height above 100 meters. At the same time, all documents will have to be received not in their native Yekaterinburg, but in Moscow. All this takes up a huge amount of time, causing a justified reluctance of developers to get involved with the construction of unique high-rise buildings at all. The situation needs to be seriously reviewed, which is what the 100+ Forum Russia will be doing. Following the results of the forum, a roadmap will be adopted, on the basis of which Russian legislation in the field of high-rise construction will be further amended.
