100+ OPINION: Hiroki Matsuura
Speaker of 100+ Forum Russia, CEO of MADMA urbanism+landscape Hiroki Matsuura on the cities of the future:
"The future is so diverse that we can only talk about it abstractly. Therefore, when I think about the city of the future, I assume the future is not far away, but rather close, and I start from the present. Today we all work in offices, we have everything in them — communication, computers, workplaces. In the future, we will be able to leave this office, go to a cafe, grab a cup of coffee, invite a partner and discuss all issues with him there. And all the opportunities that the office gives us today will be at our fingertips. On the one hand, and on the other, I think that in the near future we will see a change in public space: the hierarchy between drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists will change. Drivers will no longer be in charge on the roads."
