The stele "The City of labor valor" | Stroytekproekt LLC

The stele "City of Labor Valor" is a monument reflecting the ideas of patriotism, collectivism and respect for the labor achievements of citizens. The object was installed jointly by the Russian Military Historical Society, the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region and the Yekaterinburg City Administration.

The facility is located in a park at the intersection of Nikolai Nikonov and Tsarskaya Streets, next to the Kosmos shopping mall. The terrain of the site is relatively flat, with a general downward slope to the southeast. The site represented the territory of a flat parking lot.

The memorial complex consists of a stele and four high pylons, the sides of which are lined with Corten steel. The panels form a broken triangular structure reflecting the stressed tectonics of the surfaces. The panels are laser-cut with images of stylized military equipment produced at Sverdlovsk factories. The stele is made in the form of a vertical structure, which symbolizes steadfastness and aspiration. Two screens are installed on the facades of the stele, broadcasting a historical gallery of portraits of outstanding home front workers. Its shape creates a sense of dynamics and lift, while its proportions ensure a balance between vertical and ambient.

Pedestrian accessibility is provided from the transit sidewalks of Nikolay Nikonov St. and Tsarskaya St.. The main pedestrian alley runs along the axis of symmetry of the structure. Recreation areas are located on the sidewalks intersecting it.

The main approach to the stele is solved along the alley from Tsarskaya St. from the side of the Temple on Blood. The Stele and the Temple enter into an invisible dialogue of the eternal values of our people. The height of the stele is 42 meters, which is the tallest stele among all such monuments. It contains the coat of arms of the city and the text of the presidential decree, which awarded Yekaterinburg the title of the City of Labor Valor.: "For the significant contribution of the city's residents to achieving Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, ensuring uninterrupted production of military and civilian products at industrial enterprises, and demonstrating massive labor heroism and dedication, award the honorary title of the Russian Federation "City of Labor Valor" to the city of Yekaterinburg." The height of the stele is due to the fact that in 1942 the evacuation of industrial enterprises to the Sverdlovsk region was completed.

The structural part of the complex is made in accordance with regulatory documents. The structure is a frame structure with a complex wedge-shaped shape. At ground level, the plan is an isosceles trapezoid with base sizes of 3.9 and 1.0 m. The planes of the facades passing through the bases connect to each other at a distance of + 42,000 m, forming the top of the stele. The width of the facades varies from the base (6.0 and 1.0 m) to the top (2.5 m). The supporting frame of the stele is metal, formed by a spatial tower structure with belts and a lattice made of a round tube. On the marks +20,000; +23,000; +26,000; +28,500 and +32,500 horizontal diaphragms are provided to ensure the geometric immutability of the tower contour. The foundation of the stele is monolithic reinforced concrete.

Two main materials are used in the cladding of the stele and the complex - korten steel and white granite. The use of steel reduces the weight of structural elements, while maintaining strength.

In the evening, the pylons glow from the inside, and the stele and the square in front of it are illuminated by spotlights. The night illumination of the stele enhances the effect in the evening, making the object noticeable and expressive.

The stele serves as a symbol of pride and unity for the residents of Yekaterinburg, strengthening their connection with history and cultural traditions. This contributes to the formation of a positive image of the city and increases the level of social responsibility. The stele serves as a venue for educational events, exhibitions and lectures, which contributes to raising the level of historical and cultural awareness of the population.

The "City of Labor Valor" stele is a monumental work of art and architecture that combines expressive forms with deep meaning, creates a strong visual image and emphasizes the historical significance of Yekaterinburg as a city of labor valor.
