Memorial zone "Weapons of Victory" | Kraft Group LLC

The memorial complex, dedicated to the feat of Soviet soldiers and workers of the labor front, was created as part of a regional project of United Russia called "Weapons of Victory." This monument was erected in the working village of Zavodoukovsky, where 939 non-motorized aircraft were produced at the evacuated plant during the war. The layout of the airframe is made in full size and manufactured by the Tushinsky Machine-building Plant.

It is important to note that it was here at the Zavodoukovsky Glider Plant No. 499 that half of all the gliders needed by the Red Army during the Great Patriotic War were produced. The idea to perpetuate these memorable pages of the history of their native land came to the residents of the city.

The creation of the monument in the form of the A-7 amphibious glider, designed by Oleg Antonov, took almost three years. The glider is placed on an inclined podium, which creates a take-off effect, and the backlight helps to convey the feeling of soaring and runway. A real counterweight from the A-7, found by the search teams, was used in the manufacture of the model.

The park features plates with the names of the plant's employees, as well as bas-reliefs of aircraft designers Alexander Moskalev and Oleg Antonov, who worked at the plant. The letter in the aircraft's name refers to the surname of its creator, Soviet aircraft designer Oleg Antonov, and the number indicates the maximum number of people on board. Residents of the municipality have been waiting for this event for a long time. The monument to the Defender of the Fatherland from Grateful Descendants, opened in the Year of Memory and Glory, and the glider became important elements of the Engineering park.

A good solution was to create an observation deck from which you can view the layout in detail from above and even look into the cockpit of the glider.

Landscaping continues in the park area: A playground has already been set up, and in the spring the equipment of the sports ground will be completed, which will give new life to the public space.
