Teploluxxe R-sense Precipitation Sensor: an innovative breakthrough in architectural heating management
Modern electric heating systems for buildings are an integral part of urban infrastructure, especially in cold climates. However, the effectiveness of such systems largely depends on the accuracy and reliability of key components, in particular, precipitation sensors that trigger heating when necessary. The answer to this challenge was the Teploluxxe R-sense precipitation sensor, a development based on modern technology and engineering foresight.
Principle of operation: the Doppler effect
The Teploluxxe R-sense precipitation sensor uses the Doppler effect, a technology known for its accuracy and widely used in completely different fields: from road radars and weather stations to medical diagnostics (for example, in ultrasound devices). The use of this technology in de—icing systems is a timely step that significantly improves the reliability of architectural heating systems.
How does it work? A sensor element is installed in the sensor housing, emitting ultra—high frequency radio waves - 24 GHz. These waves bounce off moving objects, such as raindrops or snowflakes, and return to the receiver. By changing the frequency of the reflected signal, the system accurately determines the presence and intensity of precipitation. Due to its high sensitivity, the sensor detects even the smallest precipitation, which allows timely activation of the heating system and avoids the formation of ice.
Reliability and durability: without compromise
One of the key advantages of the Teploluxxe R-sense precipitation sensor is its autonomy and resistance to external influences. Unlike traditional models, the sensor does not require regular cleaning, is not susceptible to corrosion, does not silt up and does not oxidize. This means that it has been operating stably without maintenance for more than 10 years, ensuring uninterrupted operation of de-icing systems throughout its operational life.
Additional reliability of the device is provided by a wide operating temperature range — from -30 to +60 °C, as well as protection from ultraviolet radiation. This makes the Teploluxe R-sense precipitation sensor suitable for installation in most of the climatic zones of Russia, where it is especially important to maintain safety at the entrance areas of buildings, ramps, roofs and other areas prone to icing.
Integration and installation: convenient for designers and installers
An important feature of the Teploluxxe R-sense precipitation sensor is its full compatibility with the Teploluxe2000 electric heating control controller. For data transmission, the sensor uses the Modbus RTU protocol implemented using the RS-485 interface. At the same time, the controller can transmit data to external devices using the Modbus TCP protocol over an Ethernet interface, which makes it easy to integrate the Teploluxxe R-sense precipitation sensor into modern building dispatching and automation systems. The installation of the sensor is as simple as possible: the connection is carried out according to a standard four-wire scheme, which saves installation organizations from additional difficulties and costs.
In addition, the compact size and minimalistic design of the device allow it to be installed on facades without disturbing the architectural composition of the building. This is especially true for objects with a high level of aesthetic requirements: business-class residential complexes, public and commercial buildings.
