Sacco and Vanzetti 50 | Bureau Sverdlovsk
A typical five-storey Khrushchev brick building with an area of approximately 45 sq.m. Initially, it comes with a small kitchen, a walk-through living room and a long narrow bedroom. The previous owners combined the kitchen with the living room and made the entrance to the combined bathroom diagonally. The designers tore down all the interior walls and rebuilt them. This made it possible to move the washing machine into a separate niche with storage in the hallway, the refrigerator from the kitchen side into the same niche, and also make the bedroom the right shape.
Compositional and stylistic unity:
Compositionally, the designers of the bureau thought out all the necessary areas in the apartment, and decorated them in a single style. The walls in the rooms and bathrooms are painted in the same color scheme with a stretch of color, but there are also accent points that immediately attract the eye (a bright sofa, a bed).
Design Quality:
The walls in the rooms and bathrooms are painted in the same color scheme with color stretching, the chipboard of the kitchen and custom cabinets are also matched in a single color scheme. The materials used are tactilely pleasant: laminate with a wood texture, porcelain stoneware with a stone texture, solid wood table, etc. The walls are painted, the ceiling is plastered in the bedroom, and there is a stretch ceiling in other rooms.
Engineering quality:
The bathroom has underfloor heating, and the switch is hidden in a niche with a washing machine. A bed was placed in the bedroom with its head to the wall and an entrance to its own dressing room was made, which made it possible to abandon bulky closets in the apartment. The kitchen was made linear, and an additional work surface was placed instead of a window sill. When replacing the windows, we chose a door to the balcony made entirely of glass without a lintel, which allows even more natural light to enter the apartment.
The innovation of the design solution of the implemented project:
The innovation lies in the fact that it is possible to realize a modern apartment in the old foundation, as from a magazine, even if it is more difficult to do than in a new building. The designers also made the most of the available space, got rid of the narrow "trailer bedroom", and took the washing machine out into the hallway, which is sometimes difficult to do even in new buildings. And also due to the enveloping color and tactile materials, we managed to create an apartment that you just don't want to leave.
