Expanded Clay Block | Vinzilinsky Expanded Clay Gravel Plant

The expanded clay block consists of expanded clay gravel, lime and quartz sand. It is used for the construction of walls of any residential and public buildings.

It has unique medicinal properties due to its composition.

  1. Expanded clay is a lightweight filler obtained by firing therapeutic blue clay. It does not burn, does not emit harmful substances, and is vapor permeable.
  2. Lime has a high alkalinity, kills fungi, microbes and mold.

Advantages of expanded clay gravel:

  • easy
  • does not rot
  • keeps you warm
  • insects and rodents do not eat
  • It does not emit harmful substances
  • vapor permeable
  • not lit

Fire safety. In case of fire, various dangerous processes can occur with materials.:

  1. They can burn well and thus contribute to the rapid spread of flames (for example, wood and insulation materials).
  2. They may not burn, but melt, while releasing harmful toxic substances (for example, polymer insulation materials, plastic).
  3. They can deform, and dangerous stresses can occur in them, leading to their destruction (for example, heavy concrete).

To prevent these dangerous processes, it is necessary to use mineral materials that have been fired. Not only do such materials not burn or melt, no gases are released from them when exposed to high temperatures. They are homogeneous in composition and structure, which means that heterogeneous deformations are excluded. Such a material is expanded clay gravel.

Concrete structures combine concrete and steel reinforcement. Steel expands greatly when heated, while its adhesion to concrete is disrupted, stresses arise in the concrete, leading to its destruction.

In heavy concrete, granite rubble serves as a filler. Granite consists of three main minerals — quartz, feldspar and mica. All these three minerals have different coefficients of temperature linear expansion. That is, when heated, they expand in different ways, so the bonds between them are broken, which leads to the destruction of the crushed stone itself and a violation of the structure of concrete.

When building a house from materials produced by the Vinzilinsky expanded clay gravel factory, only the roof and furniture will burn in case of fire. The box will stay at home and can move on after the renovation.

The expanded clay block has a lower thermal conductivity than heavy concrete, so the temperature spreads deeper into the structure more slowly and the reinforcement remains protected from fire for a longer time. That is, the expanded clay block protects not only from cold, but also from heat during a fire.

Lime is a binder produced by calcining limestone. Lime is an antiseptic that has been used since ancient times for plaster, for masonry mortar, for whitewashing walls, ceilings, furnaces, etc. and for disinfection of cellars, cesspools, etc. Whitewash and plaster based on lime have been preserved to this day on many architectural monuments.

Employees of the Vienna Medical University, the Austrian Institute of Building Biology and Ecology (IBO), as well as experts from The University of Applied Sciences FH Burgenland conducted a scientific experiment and proved that lime-based coatings are the most effective for maintaining a balanced indoor climate.
