Engineering and technical solutions of METEOR Lift company
METEOR Lift (before the rebranding, OTIS Lift LLC) supplied and installed 13 latest—generation METEOR Evo elevators (before the rebranding, Gen2) using belt technologies at the Flagship Center of the N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Joint Venture in Moscow. The building has 9 elevators with walk-through type cabins and a doorway width from 900 to 1300 mm, which allows for the transportation of bedridden patients accompanied by medical personnel between the blocks of the inpatient complex using vehicles of various widths, and 4 elevators with a conventional type of cabin. The lifting capacity of the elevators is 630, 1000, 2500 kg with a capacity of 8, 13 and 33 passengers, respectively, and the speed is 1 m/s.
All elevators do not have a machine room, which freed up valuable building space to accommodate additional medical facilities.
METEOR Evo elevators use the ReDrive regenerative drive, which, in combination with a gearless winch, saves up to 75% of electricity compared to a standard elevator system and thus reduces the cost of operating the entire building. Energy savings are also achieved thanks to LED lighting, which has a service life 10 times longer than fluorescent lamps, with an automatic shutdown mode.
The durability and safety of elevator equipment is achieved through the use of the technology of flat polyurethane belts reinforced with steel ropes, which do not require lubrication and last 2.5 — 3 times longer than traditional ropes. All elevators are equipped with the SmartSense system, which provides round-the-clock automatic monitoring of the condition and integrity of the belts, as well as allows you to plan maintenance in advance and thus minimize possible downtime.
Additional reliability is provided by infrared protection of the doorway, blocking the operation of the elevator in case of unauthorized opening of the shaft doors, video surveillance in the elevator cabin, counterweight fencing in the pit and fencing of rotating parts.
For the convenience of disinfection of surfaces, elevator cabin panels are made of stainless steel and equipped with aluminum handrails. The buttons of the elevator door panel are made in Braille, which is a relief-dot font and is easily recognized by touch by people with disabilities.
METEOR Lift installation solution
During the installation of the elevators, METEOR Lift applied a treeless installation method, which reduced the installation time and the equipment commissioning period by eliminating the need to install wooden decking along the entire height of the shaft and reducing the number of transitions between floors by installers. The method used at the facility is also more technologically advanced and environmentally friendly compared to the standard installation process, due to the absence of the need to use scaffolding along the entire height of the elevator shaft.
