The iron school in the village Ola of the Magadan region | ITEM - design workshop

Description of the object:

The design site for a comprehensive school with 825 places is located in Ola of the Magadan region in a seismically active area.

The designated area provides for the placement of a projected 825-seat secondary school building, a system of outdoor areas divided by type of activity and age, in conjunction with the surrounding buildings.

This is the first school in Russia from the LSTC in the seismically active area.

  • The first in Russian "iron" school
  • The building area is 7,095 sq. m. m, the total area of the building is 22402 sq. m.
  • The frame of the building is black metal
  • Floors and walls of the building — LSTK
  • This school accommodates 875 places.
  • Project stage: commissioned

The innovative component:

The objective was to eliminate the masonry of small-piece materials and reduce the amount of concreting and "wet" processes. In this project, we used a combination of black-metal load-bearing structures with light steel thin-walled structures.

Benefits for the industry:

  • Design solutions make it possible to provide the required safety parameters in difficult seismic and climatic conditions (seismicity up to nine points, strong winds, severe cold, marine climate).
  • Speed and ease of installation work.
  • High quality of construction work related to the use of factory-ready elements.
  • Optimization of logistics costs in a remote region of the Russian Federation. This technology has made it possible to significantly reduce logistical costs and shorten construction time.

The effect of using the material:

A complete supply of individual factory-ready products of the load-bearing frame (columns, beams, ties) and light steel thin-walled structures (floors, walls, partitions) was carried out at the facility. The products were installed at the facility.

In the conditions of an undeveloped regional market of building materials and limited logistical accessibility of the region, factory-ready structures were used, which made it possible to significantly reduce logistical costs and shorten construction time.
