"SCHOOL WITHOUT DANGER"

The aim of the project is to ensure safety and predictive analytics to prevent aggression against children and adolescents, and to reduce the risk of the spread and use of illicit drugs in educational institutions.

Relevance: In the last two decades, the problem of identifying and protecting the population, primarily children and adolescents, from attacks in schools and educational institutions has been urgent all over the world. None of the currently existing analogues provides for speech recognition with simultaneous recognition of a video fragment in order to improve the quality of recognition and simultaneous processing of an audio/video/text stream in relation to the same event and time period. This security system was created as a response to the events in Kazan and Perm, as a security system capable of preventing or reducing the likelihood of a repeat of school shootings. The security system was developed by our specialists and is a combination of video surveillance and trained neural networks capable of detecting "dangerous words", the sounds of gunshots or broken glass, recognizing faces, human poses, clothing, smoke, fire, and so on.

Solution: each school is equipped with a minimal video surveillance system, but such systems are passive and work only if a person is watching the cameras or after the incident on the recording from the archive. Neural network analytics is able to automatically identify dangerous situations before they occur.

The pilot project was implemented in two educational institutions in Moscow. Yekaterinburg (secondary school No. 215 "Constellation" and kindergarten No. 437 "Sunny Ray"), which will demonstrate the new capabilities of security systems developed in Russia and serve as the basis for scaling these systems to other educational institutions and government facilities.

Availability of security documents for the result of intellectual activity: in December 2021, an application was submitted to the Federal Intellectual Property Service for registration of an invention — the software and hardware complex "Intelligent system for detecting and preventing aggression against children and adolescents." Currently, this technology is not used for security purposes, but there is a need for it, as evidenced by requests from government agencies in the context of improving student safety and reducing the risk of drug trafficking.
