Terra Apartment | FREYA Architects
The apartment is 68 sq.m. in the residential complex Lefortovo Park, Moscow
The repair budget is up to 5 million. for decoration, furniture, lighting.
The main task from the Customer is to turn a corner 2—room apartment into a 3-room apartment with separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen-dining room and a separate living room. And also combine the atmosphere of Africa and Norway.
Due to its angular location, the long space with two windows was divided into two small rooms, each with spacious walk-in closets and large beds. After the development of the building drawings, the layout of the bedrooms had to be redesigned, as the configuration of the apartment changed slightly during the commissioning of the house. It was a difficult task, because in small rooms every inch counts. The hallway was specially made spacious, avoiding dark corridors, so the whole apartment seems bigger. This technique worked perfectly, despite the numerous functional areas.
An additional task was the integration into the interior. The owners had ceramic tiles from different collections in stock, which remained after the renovation of their parents' house. They decided to combine them and use them in the hallway on the floor and in a small bathroom on the wall. In the beginning, it was supposed to cut it into triangles and fix it like a Spanish mosaic made of broken tiles. But the builder did not wait and laid out his ornament with whole tiles with flowers. However, both I and the customers made this decision, partly because recognizable elements from the parent's house appeared in the apartment, and it turned out to be even more native.
All built-in wardrobes, the kitchen and some freestanding cabinets were made to order according to our sketches by Russian furniture workshops. The purchased furniture includes a table from the La Redoute website, chairs and armchairs from Cosmorelax and La Redoute, a Sofa, and Ideal Beds.
The paint on the walls is LittleGreen everywhere. Roca plumbing, ASP lighting, and La Redoute. The price segment is average. The design took 3 months, and the construction took 6-7 months. The process with the builders proceeded normally, but not quickly. But for furniture, more than one contractor had to be changed before any results could be achieved. The customers are very satisfied, we came to them half a year later to shoot a report about the apartment for the YouTube show "Room Tourist". We managed to capture the mood of our customers and create an interior that reflected the spirit of this young family.
