Bar design and interior concept

The Radio glasshouse of exemplary content

The Radio glasshouse project in Chelyabinsk was implemented in the context of rethinking the territory of the former Polet plant. The architectural objective was to create a modern bar space that retains its connection with local history and forms an independent cultural code.

The concept is based on a reinterpretation of late Soviet aesthetics adapted to the present day. It was important to avoid musealism and stylization, while preserving the feeling of a living space. The interior is built on a balance of recognizability and modern design, where nostalgia is present but not dominant.

The layout is organized around an elongated bar that defines the main axis of movement. Along the hall there is a communal sofa with integrated tables, referring to collective forms of recreation. Glass blocks with radius elements form a light filter and support an industrial context. Vinyl record niches and slanted display cases make the bar a functional and exhibition facility at the same time.

The space works in several scenarios: during the day as a quiet place for socializing, in the evening it transforms into an active bar with a dance area. A disco ball, crystal lights and acoustics around the perimeter flexibly change the atmosphere. The author's mosaic panel with architectural images of the city and radio engineering motifs became the central artistic accent.

An outdoor area with a terrace, chess tables and a reinterpreted Soviet van forms the image of a modern courtyard. Radio creates an environment where the interior becomes not a backdrop, but a participant in communication: it is equally natural to come here after work and to a party on a Saturday.
