The location for the design turned out to be difficult and very diverse: the proximity of an electric substation, typical residential buildings, a modern glass office and the monumental Rostelecom building — a vivid example of Soviet modernism. Our goal was not to get lost in this context, but to become a new connecting element, bringing balance.

The main leitmotif of the concept was modernism, to which we gave a modern sound: aluminum and copper panels in the facade of the building, large storefronts for commerce and outdoor terraces that break the rhythm of the facade. We deliberately "brought down the scale" of the building, making it visually larger and weightier so that it could hold the panorama of the intersection.

Special attention was paid to privacy: the main windows were deployed to the intersection, and a blind perforated facade with lighting was created from the side of the substation.

The result is a relief and complex building that conducts a meaningful dialogue with its surroundings. This is not an architecture of fast consumption, but of slow, thoughtful reading — it takes in layers of context and will reveal them to the viewer over time.
